We're home
Well, we're back from the Holy Land. It was amazing. I almost can't believe we were there! I put all my photos online, with descriptions, so enjoy. This is one of my favorites. I took it on the road between Jerusalem and the Dead Sea, in Bedouin country.
Happy New Year!

The ladies on the trip ate up everything at the Ahava store, which sells beauty products made from Dead Sea minerals. (And I was no exception :P)
I also got a really pretty menorah and some glass dreidels (might as well get the cool Jewish stuff in Israel, right!).
The shuk was super-cool! I'm not very good at bargaining, but I did make an effort. They probably whispered "stupid American" after I left, but at least I didn't pay the first price! I'll have to work on that skill ...

they sell the ahava products here, very expensive. hope you got some great deals. i think i got some dead sea mineral cream once as a gift.
i was a lousy bargainer, too. i got a ratty sheepskin coat i loved, a rug and a woven stool. (this was in, gulp, 72. i kept the stuff for years, though. memories.)
